info:
Total cinephile geek who misses academia. I love queer and camp coded cinema, archive films (especially relating to queer or racial work that corrects history!), and fiction films that blur reality and transgress filmic convention. I love films that uncover hidden realities or dream up brave new worlds. I view cinema with what theorist bell hooks calls the ‘oppositional gaze’, and have since being a child.
I’ve been welcoming guests and propping up bars at London arts venues for years, and finding audiences for InShortFF, Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest and Underwire Festival among others. Favourite film: How to Survive a Plague or The Celluloid Closet. Or Jackie Brown. Maybe even The Purple Rose of Cairo. No, Born in Flames!
Favourite quote: “There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life. ”
― Federico Fellini

Favourite poem: I have been to loads of partiesand acted perfectly disgracefullyBut I never actually fell overOh Lana Turner we love you get up
— from Frank O Hara’s ‘Poem [Lana Turner has collapsed!]’
